The Opportunity: An opportunity to work for a large, multi-national Building Materials company, this role will be responsible for the environmental compliance and performance requirements at all assigned facilities across 3 states. You will also support the organization in the implementation of sustainability initiatives on operations that produce cement, asphalt, ready-mix, sand, gravel & hard rock mine sites.

Salary: $110,000 - $135,000 + Bonus + Car + Relocation (If Required)
Reporting To: Director, Sustainable Resource Development
Operation: Multiple Industrial Facilities Across The Region

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead operational permitting applications, environmental impact assessments
  • Lead key stakeholder and First Nations consultation required to develop new reserves & sites
  • Manage environmental assessments for land acquisitions
  • Manage environmental regulatory requirements at all levels including Federal, Provincial, County, Municipality, City, etc.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of environmental systems & strategies
  • Promote environmental best practices at all facilities.
  • Collect applicable environmental compliance data and prepare required reports.
  • Support the companies Sustainability goals
  • Assist in the preparation of requests for capital approvals, and lead the implementation
  • Implementation of corporate guidelines, completion of required training, and monitoring compliance.
  • Provide guidance and training to all levels of the organization
  • Complete site inspections and audits providing recommendations and ensuring follow-up on corrective actions.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree educated - Environmental related field
  • Industry experience - Mining, Cement, Aggregates, Construction
  • Extensive fieldwork experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in permitting, regulations and state laws
  • Stakeholder engagement and relationship building skills
  • Valid driving license and ability to travel across multiple states
