Underground Mining Engineer - Germany

We are proud to be partnering with a global leader in the industrial minerals sector to recruit an experienced and forward-thinking Underground Mining Engineer. This is a unique opportunity to take a strategic and technical leadership role in the long-term development of underground and surface mining operations in Germany.

This role offers the chance to contribute to major underground mining projects with long-term strategic importance. You'll work at the intersection of operational planning, technical leadership, and stakeholder collaboration - all while supporting a company with a strong resource base and a commitment to safety, ethics, and sustainable growth.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Lead short-, medium-, and long-term mine planning for both underground and surface operations
• Develop optimized technical concepts for drilling, blasting, ventilation, loading, and hauling
• Evaluate and recommend mining methods, equipment, and processes based on cost-efficiency and technical feasibility
• Provide technical input for permitting, budgeting, and tender processes
• Act as the central point of contact for underground mining contractors
• Ensure strict compliance with European mining regulations and environmental standards
• Foster a strong safety culture and contribute to sustainability goals

What We're Looking For

• Master's degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of experience in underground mining (industrial minerals preferred)
• Strong mine planning software proficiency and solid MS Office skills
• Proven experience in contractor management and project coordination
• Knowledge of European mining legislation
• Fluent in English required, Germany fluency preferable.
