This is a residential role in in the central NSW. Relocation assistance provided

Role Purpose:


The Reliability Superintendent leads strategies to maximize equipment uptime, asset life, and operational efficiency across fixed plant, mobile fleet, and site infrastructure. This includes overseeing reliability engineering, condition monitoring, defect elimination, and ensuring alignment with maintenance, OEM standards, and asset management frameworks for safe, cost-effective operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the reliability team, promoting safety, continuous improvement, and accountability.

  • Develop and execute reliability improvement plans, setting KPIs with site managers.

  • Oversee condition monitoring programs and root cause analysis (RCA) for major failures.

  • Optimize preventive maintenance and shutdown scopes.

  • Manage CMMS data, reliability dashboards, and digital transformation projects (IoT, predictive analytics).

  • Apply reliability practices across fixed plant (crushers, mills, conveyors) and mobile fleet (trucks, loaders, excavators).

  • Ensure ancillary infrastructure (workshops, power generation, dewatering) meets reliability standards.

  • Lead HSE compliance and failure investigations (FMEA, HAZOP).

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Essential: Bachelor's in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.

  • Desirable: Postgraduate qualifications in asset management, CMRP certification.

  • 10+ years in mining or heavy industry, 5+ years in reliability/maintenance leadership.

  • High-level communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.

  • Experience in continuous improvement, change management, and budgeting.
