A global manufacturer of packaging machinery with a strong foothold in the food manufacturing market. Their equipment can be found in the largest food manufacturing factories across Australia and the globe.

Position Overview:

The Field Service Technician will support customers during installation, commissioning, servicing and ongoing maintenance of machinery as well as providing training of operators, production and maintenance staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute scheduled maintenance tasks on equipment installed at customer locations.
  • Travel to customer sites when necessary to diagnose and resolve technical issues causing equipment breakdowns.
  • Proactively investigate and address performance issues to ensure machines meet required standards.
  • Conduct machine servicing and rebuilds at the workshop as needed.
  • Offer technical support to customers via phone when on-site assistance isn't feasible.
  • Coordinate with management regarding service-related concerns within Australia.
  • Adhere to local safety protocols and actively manage risks while operating at customer sites and at our offices.

Candidate Background:

  • Possession of a valid Electrician's License OR qualification as a trade-certified Fitter/Mechanic with a Restricted Electrical License is required.
  • Proficiency in electronics, including knowledge of PLC-driven processes.
  • Advanced understanding of motor, servomotor, and drive technology is advantageous.
  • Ability to interpret electrical and pneumatic drawings at a component level.
  • Demonstrated customer service aptitude.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, travel with short notice, and adapt to flexible schedules.
  • Valid Driver's License.
