Senior Hydrogeologist / Senior Project Manager - Environmental Consulting

An employee-owned environmental consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Hydrogeologist / Senior Project Manager to lead complex and rewarding environmental projects across the U.S. This role offers technical leadership, client-facing responsibilities, and the opportunity to mentor the next generation of hydrogeologists/geologists.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multidisciplinary site investigations, including drilling, aquifer testing, sampling, and well installation.
- Develop conceptual site models and conduct fate & transport evaluations.
- Oversee field activities, subcontractors, and H&S compliance.
- Apply advanced groundwater modeling (MODFLOW, MT3D, EVS, VISTAS, etc.) to support remediation strategies.
- Prepare and review technical reports, work plans, and SOPs.
- Mentor junior staff and perform quality control reviews.
- Act as a subject matter expert in client and regulatory discussions.
- Support litigation (discovery, affidavits, deposition, trial).
- Travel up to 30%, including overnight stays.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's or Master's in Hydrogeology, Geology, Hydrology, Engineering, or related field.
- 15-20 years of professional experience in environmental consulting.
- Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Strong background in hydrogeologic site characterization, groundwater modeling, and remediation optimization.
- Familiarity with CERCLA, RCRA, and state regulatory programs.
- Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
- Current 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
