Senior Applications Engineer - Water Treatment
Remote, U.S. (Central Time Zone preferred)

Our client is a global leader in water and wastewater treatment technologies, with service lines that include disinfection, filtration, biological treatment, clarification, and advanced oxidation. They deliver sustainable solutions for both municipal and industrial clients and are looking to add a Senior Applications Engineer to their team.

This position will act as a senior technical resource, supporting sales, process design, and project execution while working closely with customers, sales teams, and project managers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced technical support to sales and business development teams across multiple treatment service lines.
  • Develop process designs, technical specifications, and proposals for municipal and industrial systems.
  • Act as a technical liaison between customers, vendors, and internal project teams.
  • Lead pilot studies, demonstrations, and field evaluations of treatment technologies.
  • Prepare technical reports, customer presentations, and training materials.
  • Support proposal development, including process flow diagrams, P&IDs, layouts, and cost estimates.
  • Assist with troubleshooting, commissioning, and optimization of installed systems.
  • Stay informed on regulatory requirements and emerging technologies within the sector.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering (or related field).
  • 10+ years of experience in water or wastewater treatment applications, process design, or engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of processes such as disinfection, filtration, clarification, biological treatment, or advanced oxidation.
  • Proven experience in customer-facing technical roles with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% for customer visits, site support, and industry events.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required.
