This is an exciting on-site role where you'll play a critical part in optimizing asset performance and leading a skilled team focused on reliability and planning excellence.
As a Reliability Engineer, you will lead and support the Maintenance Planning and Reliability teams, ensuring consistent application of best practices and seamless alignment across Mobile and Fixed equipment operations. Reporting directly to the Planning & Reliability Superintendent, this role is instrumental in driving strategic maintenance initiatives, boosting equipment uptime, and ensuring long-term operational reliability.
Provide leadership and guidance to the Planning and Reliability teams, promoting a strong safety culture and regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with Supply Chain to audit and improve spare parts availability, lead times, and inventory processes.
Manage asset lifecycle data within the CMMS-integrating new equipment, decommissioning old assets, and maintaining system accuracy.
Deliver insightful reporting on asset performance to support long-term planning, budgeting, and decision-making.
Align maintenance strategies with production goals and capital/operational budgets to reduce downtime and improve overall efficiency.
Champion change management practices to ensure process updates meet business needs and operational standards.
Oversee master data quality and drive continuous improvement through performance analysis and system optimization.
Balance team workloads and nurture talent development, supporting a diverse and capable maintenance workforce.
Identify inefficiencies in plant operations and material handling processes to enhance reliability and minimize equipment failures.
Implement proactive tracking tools to forecast maintenance needs using metrics like MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures).
Enforce structured work management processes to enhance maintenance KPIs and operational excellence.
Support knowledge sharing and training initiatives to build team competency in systems, workflows, and procedures.
Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis to ensure resolution and prevent recurrence.
Uphold environmental policies and report compliance-related incidents to maintain sustainability standards.
Cultivate a respectful, collaborative, and engaging workplace culture that encourages employee involvement.
Diploma or degree in a related technical discipline or 3+ years of experience in mining maintenance roles.
Professional certifications such as Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) or Certified Reliability Leader (CRL) are highly desirable.
Minimum 3 years in a role within a maintenance environment.
Strong experience using CMMS platforms (SAP, Maximo, Fiix, MaintainX, etc.) for asset tracking and work management.
Hands-on knowledge of condition monitoring tools and techniques-vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, and NDT methods.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
Strong organizational and decision-making abilities; capable of managing competing priorities with confidence.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and other relevant tools; SAP knowledge is an asset.
Solid understanding of modern maintenance management principles and best practices.
