Principal Open Pit Mining Engineer - Expat

CSG Talent are currently working with a leading Mining consultancy to support their search for a Senior or Principal Open Pit Mining Engineer to join a globally active, high-performing consulting team focused on major projects across central asia.

Based in Central Asia, this role offers exposure to world-class projects across multiple jurisdictions, working within multi-disciplinary teams that deliver high-impact solutions to mining clients. With a strong culture of professional development, this role is ideal for an experienced mining professional looking to elevate their consulting career on an international stage. The role is offered as a residential expat position with support for relocation, housing, flights home each year etc as well as a very low tax rate and cost of living.

You will be responsible in this role for providing expert input into technical studies, including mine design, scheduling, due diligence audits, project reviews, and feasibility assessments for open pit mining operations. As a senior member of the team, you'll lead or coordinate complex projects, manage client relationships, contribute to business development efforts, and mentor junior staff. The role will involve some international travel and collaboration with professionals across a wide range of disciplines.

To be successful in this role, you'll need significant experience in open pit mining with direct experience working in a Mining consultancy previously. Strong technical capability in mine planning software such as Deswik, Surpac, or Datamine is essential, alongside excellent communication and reporting skills in English. Experience across a variety of commodities, a MSc level Mining engineering education, and eligibility for Competent/Qualified Person designation under JORC or NI 43-101 will be viewed favourably.
