Civil Designer

Summary:

Our client is a full service, multi-discipline, project development and execution company, looking for a Civil Designer to join their teams.

The purpose of this position is to initiate and develop practical, cost effective and fully functional civil designs and design drawings for any type of project that involves civil engineering through completion for the assigned project. Specifically, civil engineering as it pertains to grading, drainage, underground utilities, roadway design, erosion and sediment control features.

The scope of this position requires an individual to perform a Civil Designer role on any project with respect to the development designs, drawings all with coordination with other disciplines.

Requirements:

• Proficient in the use of the company's civil design software to the degree that no assistance is required in the generation of design drawings.
• Establishes standards of quality and quantity and approves the work of other designers and drafters with assistance from the Lead Civil Designer and Supervising Engineer.

• Uses initiative and judgement in evaluating, modifying, and applying design practices and techniques.
• Coordinates work with that of others in discipline group and other discipline groups on the project.
• Fully understands the process of preparing design drawings using project specifications and discipline associated instructions in accordance with established practices, standards, and procedures.
• Basic understanding of Civil engineer's process of performing and verifying design calculations to support other designers and overall project design.
• Under minimal supervision, develops complex Civil engineering design drawings.
• Applies a solid level of understanding within the civil discipline.

Essential Qualifications:

• MUST have experience in AutoCAD - Civil 3D/Pro software.
• MUST have experience in mining projects.
• Oil, gas, and mining side experience is preferred.
• Hydrogeology and storm drainage experience is preferred.
