The Role
The Chief Scientific Officer will serve as the scientific and strategic leader, driving discovery, translational, and preclinical efforts across the company's therapeutic portfolio. This executive will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's scientific vision and advancing novel programs toward clinical development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall scientific and R&D leadership across CNS and neuromuscular disease programs.

  • Lead teams spanning discovery, translational biology, and preclinical development.

  • Develop and execute strategies to progress gene editing/gene therapy programs from target validation to IND/CTA.

  • Partner with executive leadership, investors, and external collaborators to align R&D with corporate strategy.

  • Stay at the forefront of advances in CNS, neuromuscular, and gene editing/therapy fields to maintain the company's leadership position.

Qualifications

  • PhD or MD/PhD in neuroscience, genetics, molecular biology, or related discipline.

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical R&D.

  • Deep expertise in CNS or neuromuscular disorders and gene editing/therapy modalities (AAV, LNP, base or prime editing, etc.).

  • Demonstrated track record progressing programs through IND/CTA and into early clinical development.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaborative skills with the ability to inspire teams and engage stakeholders.
