Senior Boiler Engineer/Superintendent

We're looking for an experienced engineering leader to oversee high-capacity waste heat and gas-fired boiler systems at an industrial processing facility. This role is ideal for someone who excels at optimizing complex boiler operations, driving safety and reliability, and leading technical teams in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of boiler engineers and specialists, providing technical direction and mentorship.

  • Oversee daily operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting for high-pressure waste heat boilers and related equipment.

  • Improve system performance through strategic planning, reliability initiatives, and energy-efficiency projects.

  • Ensure full compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

  • Conduct inspections, audits, and lifecycle planning for boiler and pressure-vessel systems.

  • Collaborate across departments to enhance heat-recovery performance and overall plant efficiency.

  • Manage budgets, project execution, and quality control for boiler maintenance and equipment repairs.

  • Develop operator training programs, including supporting certification and welding qualification needs.

  • Maintain required inspection and authorization certifications for site boiler operations.

  • Stay current on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and applicable codes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Engineering and 7+ years of experience in boiler engineering/operations with leadership responsibilities, or

  • Master's in Engineering and 5+ years of experience in boiler engineering/operations with leadership responsibilities.

  • Deep knowledge of waste heat boilers, pressure vessels, and industrial boiler systems.

  • Familiarity with NDT, welding practices, and standards such as ASME, AWS, and NBIC.

  • Proven experience managing large-scale maintenance or capital projects (>$1M).

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Engineering.

  • 5+ years in senior technical or leadership roles.

  • Experience with advanced boiler and controls technologies.

  • Proficiency in data analytics and boiler performance software.

  • Strong understanding of ASME, ASTM, and NBIC codes.

  • Solid project-management background.
