The Opportunity

As an Automation Specialist - Lifecycle Services, you will play a critical role in supporting and optimising automated conveyor systems across diverse industrial sectors. Based in Wehl, the Netherlands, you'll work closely with customers and internal teams to ensure seamless installation, commissioning, and maintenance of high-performance automation systems.

This position suits a hands-on engineer with strong mechatronics or controls experience who thrives on solving complex challenges, delivering top-quality service, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for new and existing automated conveyor systems, ensuring consistent communication with all stakeholders.

  • Perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) at the Wehl facility.

  • Lead installation, commissioning, and testing of systems at customer sites.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems, both remotely and on-site.

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including training and troubleshooting materials.

  • Deliver training and mentoring for internal teams and clients on system operation and maintenance.

  • Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to provide field performance feedback and support product improvements.

About You

  • Minimum of 5 years' hands-on experience in technical support, automation, or field service within production or industrial environments.

  • Solid understanding of controls and mechatronics principles, with the ability to interpret schematics and engineering drawings.

  • Proficiency in PLCs, HMIs, and control system configuration.

  • Working knowledge of SIEMENS TIA Portal, Beckhoff TwinCAT, or Matlab. Experience with Allen Bradley/Rockwell Automation Studio 5000 is advantageous.

  • Familiarity with VFDs, HMIs, Fieldbuses, and AutoCAD Electrical.

  • Understanding of electrical safety standards (EN 50110).

  • Excellent communication skills in English; additional European languages are an advantage.

  • Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time and occasionally lift up to 25 kilos.
