Water Resources Engineer

Overview
We are currently working with a well-established, employee-owned environmental consulting firm seeking an experienced Water Resources Engineer to join their growing team. This is a mid-to-senior level opportunity offering a combination of technical delivery, project leadership, and client engagement across a diverse range of civil and environmental projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage water resources projects from planning through to completion
• Perform and oversee hydrologic and hydraulic modelling using HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS (1D/2D)
• Deliver work across flood studies, stormwater management, and drainage infrastructure projects
• Review technical reports, models, and designs for accuracy and regulatory compliance
• Mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers
• Present technical findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders
• Support business development activities and maintain strong client relationships
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with regulatory agencies

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (ABET-accredited)
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• 10+ years' experience in water resources, hydrology, or hydraulics engineering
• Strong proficiency with HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS (1D/2D)
• Experience in stormwater management, floodplain analysis, or civil infrastructure projects
• Consulting experience and client-facing exposure preferred
