We are supporting a leading, employee-owned environmental engineering consultancy in the appointment of a Wastewater Project Manager to deliver municipal water and wastewater projects across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast region. This is a senior-level role suited to an experienced engineer who can lead projects end-to-end while managing teams, clients, and technical delivery.
Role Overview You will take ownership of project delivery across planning, design, and construction phases, working closely with multidisciplinary teams. This role requires someone who can manage multiple projects, engage directly with clients and stakeholders, and drive consistent, high-quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage municipal water and wastewater projects from planning through construction and start-up
Oversee design and delivery of treatment systems, collection networks, pumping stations, and distribution infrastructure
Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables
Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including civil, structural, electrical, and SCADA specialists
Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies
Support proposals, business development, and client account growth
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
Conduct QA/QC reviews to maintain technical standards
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers
Candidate Requirements
B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering (M.S. preferred)
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in New York, or ability to obtain
10-15 years of consulting engineering experience
Strong background in municipal water and wastewater systems
Proven project management experience across design and construction phases
Knowledge of regulatory frameworks, funding programs, and bidding processes
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
