We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as the Vice President of National Accounts.

The company has been steadily growing over the last 10 years and has a national footprint across the US with more than 600 locations in more than 40 states, and over 5,000 employees

Job Summary:

The VP of National Accounts will play a pivotal role in driving growth and profitability through the management and expansion of key national accounts with the US Largest Home Builders, and report directly to the President of the organization. This position will require a dynamic leader with strong industry knowledge, sales expertise, and relationship-building skills. The successful candidate will lead a high-performing team and work collaboratively with other departments to ensure the achievement of revenue and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with largest national home builders, acting as the primary point of contact to address their needs and provide exceptional service
  • Collaborate with the executive team to create and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for national accounts that aligns with the company's overall business goals
  • Drive revenue growth through the identification of new opportunities, the expansion of existing accounts, and the development of strategic partnerships
  • Manage and mentor a team of between 8 - 20 people including 4 National Account Directors, Account Managers and sales professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure their success
  • Lead negotiations with national accounts, including pricing, terms, and contractual agreements
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer behaviour to identify opportunities and threats
  • Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of national accounts initiatives
  • Foster strong working relationships with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, and logistics, to ensure seamless service delivery

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, sales, or a related field (MBA preferred)
  • Proven track record of success in a senior sales or national accounts role within building products distribution or wholesale industry - alternatives would include Industrial, HVAC, Electrical and MRO Distribution related industries
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent negotiation and communication abilities
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Understanding of roofing products and building products is a real plus.
  • Results-driven and customer-focused approach
  • Willingness to travel as necessary
