Vice President - Heavy Construction (Electrical) | Queens, NY
A leading electrical construction firm based in Queens, NY is seeking a strategic and results-driven Vice President of Heavy Construction to lead and expand its high-profile infrastructure operations across the New York metropolitan area. This executive role offers the opportunity to join a well-established organization with a strong reputation in the industry, overseeing large-scale transportation, utility, and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide executive leadership over all aspects of heavy construction operations, including planning, execution, and financial performance.
Drive strategic growth within public infrastructure markets such as MTA, DOT, and other major agencies.
Lead project management teams across multiple active job sites, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and profitability benchmarks are consistently met.
Manage high-level client relationships and act as a primary point of contact for agency officials and prime contractors.
Develop and implement operational best practices, resource planning strategies, and P&L management for the division.
Collaborate with internal departments (engineering, estimating, safety, legal, HR) to ensure seamless project delivery and compliance.
Qualifications:
15+ years of experience in heavy civil or electrical construction, with at least 5 years in an executive leadership role.
Proven track record managing complex infrastructure projects in NYC or similar urban environments.
Deep understanding of public agency work (e.g., MTA, NYCDOT, Port Authority, DEP).
Strong financial and business acumen, with demonstrated success managing large teams and multimillion-dollar budgets.
Ability to foster a culture of safety, performance, and accountability.
Location: Full-time, based at company headquarters in Queens, NY. Some regional travel required.
