Underground Grader Operator

Northern Ontario, Canada
Roster: 14 days on / 14 days off (days and nights)

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available for experienced Grader Operators to join an underground mining team at a well-established operation in northern Ontario.

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, you'll be responsible for maintaining safe and efficient travel ways underground while supporting the smooth flow of mining operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Grade and maintain all underground roads, ramps, and levels.
  • Place roadbed material where required and ensure windrows are properly managed.
  • Communicate with underground traffic and coordinate roadwork activities.
  • Perform routine checks and cleaning to keep equipment running safely.
  • Identify and report safety hazards promptly.
  • Operate other underground heavy equipment as required (with training and permits).
  • Support general underground operations as needed.

Skills & Experience

  • Commitment to working safely while ensuring the safety of others.
  • Minimum High School Diploma.
  • Hard Rock Mining Common Core (or equivalent) preferred - training can be arranged if needed.
  • At least a few years underground grader operating experience (CAT 135 experience highly valued).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to the team.
  • Comfortable working in a cross-cultural environment.

Physical Demands

  • Extended sitting while operating equipment.
  • Ability to climb in/out of equipment and perform bending, kneeling, or crouching.
  • Operation of hand and foot controls.
  • Working in conditions with vibration, noise, dust, humidity, confined spaces, and uneven terrain.
  • Good vision and hearing in low-light, noisy environments.
