About the Role:

As a Test Pilot, you will take ownership of building and executing the core functions of our client's experimental UAV flight test program. You will be responsible for preparing aircraft for flight, serving as Pilot in Command during test missions, planning and executing flight operations, logging mission data, and debriefing the team. You'll also be expected to lead crew briefings and ensure strict adherence to flight safety protocols.

Additional responsibilities include developing concepts of operations, coordinating with airport authorities, assessing pilot readiness, and supporting the launch of the initial pilot program. You may also collaborate with the engineering and build teams, contributing to design discussions and assisting with construction of the airframe and subsystems.

This role is primarily field-based. You'll play a central role in planning and managing the logistics of these operations. Expect early morning starts, variable weather conditions, and a hands-on, dynamic work environment - one that is both challenging and deeply rewarding.

What you'll do:

  • Serve as Pilot in Command for both BVLOS and VLOS test flights, including mission planning, safety reviews, pre- and post-flight inspections, and flight briefings.

  • Support a variety of test operations, including ground testing, aircraft maintenance, and hands-on involvement in airframe and subsystem assembly.

  • Contribute to the development of flight operations materials such as concepts of operations, training manuals, and FAA documentation.

  • Provide feedback to engineering teams by testing user interfaces and running simulations of real-world scenarios and failure modes.

  • Maintain simulator proficiency and help manage the operational readiness of the test site facility.

What you'll bring:

  • Valid Commercial Pilot License (CPL).

  • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.

  • Hands-on experience operating large UAVs or VTOL aircraft over 55 pounds.

  • Strong proficiency with computers, software tools, and advanced hardware systems.

  • Comfortable with towing trailers and performing basic automotive maintenance and upkeep.
