An established underground mining operation is seeking a talented and motivated Mine Planning Superintendent to lead a high-performing technical team.

In this role, you will take ownership of short-term mine planning and design, ensuring operational plans are safe, efficient, and aligned with production targets. You'll lead engineers and surveyors in delivering accurate plans that optimize the balance between safety, productivity, and profitability.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead and develop a small technical team of planning engineers and surveyors to deliver best-practice mine plans.

  • Oversee the creation of short-term schedules, stope, and development designs, and drill and blast plans.

  • Drive alignment between design, scheduling, and operational execution to achieve production and safety goals.

  • Provide hands-on technical guidance on mine planning, design optimization, and drilling and blasting parameters.

  • Collaborate with operations, geology, and geotechnical teams to ensure plans are practical, efficient, and achievable.

  • Partner with external contractors and service providers to maintain high standards in drilling and blasting performance.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning accuracy, safety outcomes, and operational efficiency.

  • Manage month-end reporting, design reconciliation, and performance reviews.

What You'll Bring

  • Degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in Canada.

  • Demonstrated experience in underground hard-rock mining, ideally within a gold or narrow-vein environment.

  • Strong working knowledge of mine planning software (Deswik preferred).

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring abilities.

  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • High attention to detail and a drive for continuous improvement.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Pronto or similar systems advantageous.
