State Sales Manager

A leading manufacturer within the building materials sector is looking for a State Sales Manager to guide growth and strengthen product presence across Queensland and the Northern Territory. The position focuses on developing opportunities, building industry relationships and increasing awareness of a specialised product range.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a clear view of construction activity across the region and position the product range where it adds value
    * Maintain regular contact with clients involved in design, planning and project delivery
    * Track upcoming opportunities and follow them through each stage using the company's internal systems
    * Introduce the product range to new contacts and provide clear explanations of performance and application
    * Deliver presentations to industry groups and project stakeholders
    * Collaborate with technical and commercial teams to ensure accurate product understanding
    * Explore untapped sectors or areas where future opportunities may emerge
    * Prepare territory updates and contribute to planning discussions
    * Coordinate with colleagues who focus on specification and market development to ensure alignment

Ideal background

  • Previous experience in building materials, construction products or a related technical sales environment
    * Strong communication skills with the ability to explain product features clearly
    * Highly organised with the ability to manage a region independently
    * Comfortable maintaining existing relationships while also seeking new opportunities
    * Capable of learning product details quickly and applying them in practical conversations
    * Confident using CRM tools or similar systems
    * Motivated, commercially minded and proactive in approach
