Spacecraft Mechanical Engineer

We are looking for a Spacecraft Mechanical Engineer who is tired of slow-moving legacy cycles and ready to actually build. Based in Los Angeles, this isn't a role where your designs sit on a shelf. You will lead the design, assembly, and testing of structural systems for custom spacecraft, owning your hardware from the first sketch to the launch pad.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design primary and secondary spacecraft structures using CAD and GD&T.
  • Lead assembly, integration, and testing (AI&T) in cleanroom environments.
  • Develop mechanical assembly procedures and MGSE designs.
  • Perform hands-on integration, including torquing, staking, and fit checks.
  • Mentor junior engineers and collaborate across subsystems to ensure mission success.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 4+ years of aerospace experience with hands-on flight hardware integration.
  • Proficiency in Solidworks, NX, or similar CAD tools.
  • Familiarity with NASA standards and ESD protocols.

Opportunity & Benefits

Our client is a high-growth startup using automated computational design to build reliable, custom spacecraft. They offer paid medical, 401k matching, and a flexible vacation policy.
