Position Overview:

An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, experienced Field Service Technician with a focus on automated packaging and processing equipment. Working as part of the service team, you will be involved in the maintenance servicing, breakdown support and installation of electrical and mechanical equipment.

This is an exciting and varied role and we encourage people who are reliable, motivated and suitably qualified to apply. The role involves regional travel throughout Victoria. There may also be occasional interstate or international travel.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Carry out service work as specified in existing service contracts
  • Install machinery and assist with the commissioning of new machines to customer requirements
  • Perform machine audits
  • Carry out maintenance and repairs
  • Execute modifications and upgrades of existing machines
  • Maintain internal relationships with sales and technical teams through effective communication

Who we're looking for

In order to be successful for this role, it is expected that you possess the following:

  • Electrician with mechanical aptitude &/or mechanical trade qualification with restricted electrical license
  • Experience in electrical troubleshooting skills (extra low voltage 24vdc)
  • Experience with motor and drive technologies (servo motors) and PLC control technology (not coding)
  • Strong computer knowledge, network structure, ethernet, ethercat & serial communication protocols
  • Experience in food industry with packaging and processing equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with methodical approach to solving technical issues
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, manuals & drawings
  • Ability to apply appropriate problem-solving techniques to technical, application and other related issues
  • Intermediate knowledge in MS Office with comfort using various Apps/software on associated devices
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Customer focused and able to work both independently as well as part of a team
  • A confident, self-motivated team player
  • Driver's license
