Position Overview

We are looking for a driven Sensors & Algorithms Engineer to help develop cutting-edge sensing and perception systems for our clients next-generation space platforms. In this role, you will work at the intersection of hardware and software, fusing data from diverse sensors, designing advanced algorithms for orbital determination and resident space object (RSO) characterization, and delivering real-time insights for decision-making in dynamic operational environments.

Key Responsibilities

Sensor Integration:

  • Design, configure, calibrate, and test multi-sensor systems.

  • Develop robust sensor fusion pipelines to integrate data from multiple modalities, enhancing accuracy and reliability.

Algorithm Development:

  • Design and implement estimation, detection, and tracking algorithms using modern techniques such as Kalman Filters, Particle Filters, and SLAM.

  • Develop and deploy real-time signal processing and filtering algorithms for noisy sensor inputs.

  • Prototype and validate algorithms in both simulated and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) environments.

Modeling & Simulation:

  • Build models of sensors and operational environments to assess performance across varying conditions.

  • Run Monte Carlo simulations and perform uncertainty quantification to evaluate algorithm resilience.

Optimization & Deployment:

  • Optimize algorithms for real-time performance on embedded or edge computing platforms.

  • Collaborate across engineering teams to integrate algorithms into broader control, navigation, and autonomy frameworks.

  • Contribute to setting up a CI/CD pipeline to support productization.

  • Support commercialization initiatives and contribute to product development efforts.

Data Analysis & Tooling:

  • Analyze large-scale datasets to evaluate sensor performance and guide design improvements.

  • Develop internal tools for data visualization, debugging, and benchmarking.

Qualifications

Technical Expertise:

  • Proficient in C++ and Python for algorithm development.

  • Experience with MATLAB or similar tools for modeling and simulation.

  • Familiarity with ROS, embedded platforms, and real-time operating systems.

  • Solid foundation in estimation theory, signal processing, and control systems.

  • Experience with machine learning for perception and sensor fusion is a plus.

Professional Experience:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in sensor integration and algorithm development (including academic research).

  • Hands-on experience with IMUs, GPS, LiDAR, and/or computer vision sensors.

  • Proven ability to deploy algorithms in real-world systems.
