Are you an experienced Tailings Engineer looking to step into a senior role with a leading Canadian mining operator? This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of tailings facility design, operation, and capital projects, ensuring safe and sustainable performance across a major mining operation.

The Role

As Senior Tailings Engineer, you will:

  • Provide technical oversight of the Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) and associated water management systems

  • Ensure safety, compliance, and best practice in line with Canadian regulatory standards

  • Support mill operations with deposition planning and dam integrity management

  • Deliver and oversee capital works projects, from design review to execution

  • Coordinate with consultants, engineers of record, and regulators

  • Manage contractors and external service providers

  • Mentor and develop junior engineers (EITs) within the team

  • Prepare budgets, schedules, and performance reports

About You

  • Degree-qualified in Civil, Geotechnical, Mining, or related Engineering discipline

  • Registered, or eligible to register, as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada

  • 5+ years' experience in tailings facility design, construction, or operations

  • Strong project management and contractor oversight skills

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities

  • Must be a Canadian resident or citizen
