Senior Project Manager - Waterfront / Marine Engineering

About the Opportunity:

Our client, a leading multi-discipline engineering and environmental consulting firm, is seeking a Senior Project Manager with expertise in waterfront and marine engineering to join their New York City team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead challenging waterfront projects across private development and public infrastructure sectors, collaborate with a diverse technical team, and contribute to business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage waterfront/marine engineering projects, including structural and geotechnical design of bulkheads, seawalls, breakwaters, pile-supported platforms, revetments, and related structures.
  • Oversee permit applications for waterfront projects (e.g., NYSDEC, USACE, and local waterfront permits).
  • Manage client relationships, project budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, drawings, and construction documents.
  • Conduct and supervise field investigations, facility inspections, and construction oversight.
  • Mentor, lead, and develop junior and senior staff engineers (2-5 direct reports).
  • Support business development by identifying opportunities and assisting in proposal preparation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure, or ability to obtain reciprocity.
  • 10+ years of experience in waterfront/marine engineering and project management.
  • Proven experience in technical report preparation, construction documents, and field inspections.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, codes, and quantitative engineering analyses.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, mentor staff, and develop client relationships.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for site visits.
