Job Summary:
The Senior Healthcare Construction Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all aspects of healthcare construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the quality standards required for healthcare facilities. This role requires strong leadership, in-depth knowledge of healthcare construction requirements, and the ability to manage multiple subcontractors and teams in complex, occupied environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead day-to-day field operations on large-scale healthcare construction projects (hospitals, clinics, senior living facilities).
Implement and enforce safety protocols, including infection control measures (ICRA, isolation procedures).
Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure schedule adherence and quality standards.
Monitor and manage project progress, resolving issues proactively to avoid delays or cost overruns.
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation, including daily logs and RFIs.
Support preconstruction and planning activities, including phasing and sequencing in occupied facilities.
Mentor and develop field staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
Collaborate closely with project management, clients, architects, and engineers.
Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial construction; 5+ years in healthcare construction preferred.
Proven track record leading multi-million-dollar healthcare or senior living projects.
Strong knowledge of healthcare-specific construction requirements, including infection control, phasing, and MEP systems.
Experience with project management and construction software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project).
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments while maintaining quality and safety standards.
OSHA certification required; additional safety or construction certifications preferred (e.g., CCM, LEED AP).
