Senior Applications Engineer

Location: Remote (Eastern or Central US Preferred)

About the Opportunity

An innovative and rapidly growing environmental technology company is seeking a Senior Applications Engineer to join its commercial engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of advanced water, wastewater and environmental treatment technologies, supporting customers with complex technical solutions across municipal and industrial markets.

The successful candidate will work closely with Business Development, Project Management and Operations to develop treatment solutions, prepare technical proposals and support projects from concept through implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop process and treatment solutions for municipal and industrial water and wastewater applications.
• Prepare technical proposals, process designs, equipment recommendations and cost estimates.
• Perform process calculations, mass balances, hydraulic calculations and equipment sizing.
• Provide technical support to the Business Development team throughout the sales process.
• Participate in customer meetings, technical presentations and project reviews.
• Support pilot studies, commissioning activities and project start-up when required.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations and project management teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Assist in the preparation of technical documentation, specifications and conference presentations.
• Evaluate customer requirements and develop practical, cost-effective treatment solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in Applications Engineering, Process Engineering or Technical Sales Support within the water or environmental sectors.
• Strong understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes.
• Experience developing technical proposals and supporting customer-facing engineering activities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10-20% for customer meetings, commissioning support and industry events.
