Our client, a premier US construction materials company, is seeking an experienced Sales Representative for the greater Portland-Vancouver area. In this role, you will drive sales for Construction and Building Materials, leveraging your technical expertise to support existing customers while expanding the customer base through your in-depth industry knowledge and exceptional relationship-building skills.

You will be a strong communicator with excellent negotiation and time management skills. With a proven track experience in sales especially in construction or building materials, you will bring energy and a hunger for success to this role. This role will require travel to various sites when necessary.

What you will be doing:

  • Identify new business opportunities to expand customer-base, while building and maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Main point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries, providing product information and solving issues.
  • Customer education on products features and specifications.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to process and deliver orders for customer requirements.
  • Nurture existing customer relationships to further enhance business growth.
  • Prepare quotes, gather market information and identify new business opportunities.
  • Assist in developing marketing plans and setting sales targets.
  • Actively engage in team meetings to contribute to a collaborative and successful team culture.

Experience and Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
  • A post-secondary degree is preferable.
  • Proven track record and a minimum of 3 years of sales and marketing experience.
  • Technical skills to understand and explain product specifications and applications.
  • Intermediate in using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Valid and clean State Driver's license with an insurable driving record.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
