R&D Director

Position Summary
They are looking for an experienced R&D Director to lead the research, innovation pipeline, product development, and scientific strategy. This role will oversee all R&D functions from early-stage discovery to commercialization ensuring the ingredient portfolio stays at the forefront of the nutraceutical industry. The ideal candidate has deep scientific expertise, a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, and a proven track record in team leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the R&D department, including scientists, formulation specialists, and technical staff.

• Oversee development of new nutraceutical ingredients, formulations, and delivery systems.

• Drive innovation strategy and maintain a robust R&D pipeline aligned with market and customer needs.

• Design and review experimental studies, analytical methods, and technical documentation.

• Collaborate with Quality, Regulatory, Operations, and Commercial teams to ensure successful product launches.

• Ensure compliance with global regulatory frameworks (e.g., FDA, EFSA, DSHEA, GRAS, Novel Foods).

• Develop scientific content for customer presentations, white papers, and technical sales support.

• Manage R&D budgets, resources, project timelines, and performance metrics.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master's in Food Science, Nutrition, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or related field.

• 10+ years of experience in nutraceuticals, dietary supplements, natural products, functional foods, or related industries.

• Strong knowledge of ingredient development, formulation science, analytical testing, and regulatory requirements.

• Proven leadership experience managing scientific teams and complex R&D programs.

• Demonstrated ability to translate scientific concepts into commercial product opportunities.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present scientific findings internally and externally.

• Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving, organizational, and project-management abilities.
