Project Director - Critical Minerals

As Project Director, you will lead all technical, commercial, study management and execution activities across the full lifecycle. You will oversee multi-disciplinary study teams in mining, processing, infrastructure, FEED, permitting and secondary transformation, ensuring all key deliverables and milestones are achieved.

  • Executive leadership role on a nationally strategic, FAST-41-backed critical minerals project.

  • Ability to influence the entire lifecycle from study through construction.

  • Attractive executive package and long-term growth opportunity.

We are supporting a leading mining organisation advancing a nationally significant graphite development in North America. The project has recently secured FAST-41 designation, providing enhanced federal coordination, streamlined permitting, and increased visibility at the national level.

This is a flagship critical minerals project progressing through PEA → Feasibility Study → construction, offering a rare opportunity to lead a high-profile development from early studies through to execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the project from PEA through Feasibility Study and into construction readiness, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.

  • Oversee multi-disciplinary study teams (mining, process, infrastructure, permitting, FEED).

  • Provide technical leadership across process plant design, mining infrastructure and support facilities.

  • Manage and refine capital cost estimates, schedules and study outputs.

  • Coordinate EPCM or owners' team resources across engineering, procurement and construction.

  • Drive proactive risk management across technical, commercial, and execution areas.

  • Lead construction planning and the transition from feasibility into detailed engineering and execution.

  • Support permitting, financing, offtake discussions and operational readiness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mining, Metallurgical/Process, Chemical Engineering or similar.

  • 10+ years' mining project development experience with direct responsibility for study phases and construction.

  • Proven experience taking projects from PEA/Scoping → Feasibility → Construction/Start-up.

  • Strong study management capability: scope definition, trade-offs, design optimisation and cost control.

  • Track record in construction oversight and contractor/owner's team leadership.

  • Graphite or battery materials experience highly advantageous.

  • Hands-on, technically strong project leader.

  • Comfortable bridging technical studies, commercial decisions, and execution delivery.

  • Decisive, proactive and solutions-oriented, with strong value-engineering instincts.

  • Thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial project environment.
