Project Accountant

I'm partnering with a well-established, design-led Architecture practice in Los Angeles that is continuing to invest in its project accounting and finance function. They are looking to hire a Project Accountant to support project teams and ensure strong financial control across active projects in Los Angeles.

This role sits closely with Project Managers and senior leadership and plays a key part in project performance, billing accuracy, and financial reporting.

The Role

• Set up and manage projects in the accounting system

• Track project budgets, labor, expenses, and consultant costs

• Prepare and issue client invoices

• Monitor WIP, revenue recognition, and billing variances

• Support month-end close related to project financials

• Maintain accurate project cost and fee tracking

• Assist with AR collections and cash flow reporting

• Partner with Project Managers on forecasts and project status reports

• Ensure compliance with contracts, fee schedules, and internal controls

• Support audits and ad-hoc financial reporting as required

What They're Looking For

• Experience in project-based accounting

• Background in architecture, engineering, or construction preferred

• Strong understanding of WIP, project costing, and billing

• Comfortable working directly with Project Managers

• Detail-oriented, organised, and deadline-driven

• ERP experience such as Deltek Vision, Vantagepoint, or Ajera preferred
