Role Overview:

We're looking for a hands-on and motivated Production Supervisor to lead operations on the shop floor of our busy poultry processing facility. You'll be responsible for managing a team of operatives, ensuring production targets are met while upholding the highest standards of food safety, quality, and efficiency.

This is a key role in maintaining smooth daily operations and contributing to continuous improvement across the site.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise production staff across processing lines to meet output, yield, and quality targets.

  • Ensure all operations comply with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards (HACCP, BRCGS, Red Tractor, etc.).

  • Monitor workflow, identify issues, and take action to minimise downtime and improve productivity.

  • Support training and development of new and existing staff.

  • Work collaboratively with Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Planning teams to deliver daily production goals.

  • Keep accurate production records and help prepare reports for management.

  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Assist during audits and help maintain a state of audit readiness at all times.


What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within poultry or food manufacturing (2+ years preferred).

  • Solid knowledge of poultry processing, food safety protocols, and operational best practices.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate others in a fast-paced environment.

  • Competent with production systems and IT tools (Microsoft Office, ERP/MES software).

  • Clear communication skills and a problem-solving mindset.

  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends when required.


Desirable Qualifications:

  • Level 2 or 3 Award in Food Safety in Manufacturing.

  • IOSH, NEBOSH or equivalent Health & Safety training.

  • Training or experience with Lean, Kaizen, or continuous improvement principles.

  • NVQ/SVQ or Diploma in Manufacturing, Food Production, or a related discipline.
