About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a seasoned Production Supervisor to join a well-established open-cut mining operation in Central Queensland. This role sits within a high-output coal processing facility, producing approximately 600 tonnes per hour, and forms a critical part of a site renowned for premium low-volatile pulverised coal for export.

Reporting directly to the Production Superintendent, you'll take full ownership of day-to-day operations, leading an engaged and experienced crew while ensuring safety, compliance, and productivity benchmarks are met. This is a highly visible role where your leadership will directly impact performance and plant reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide and support the team during daily operations, modelling best practices and operational discipline.
  • Champion a strong safety culture, conduct investigations, and drive continuous improvement in compliance.
  • Mentor, coach, and support team members' growth, overseeing performance and development plans.
  • Monitor feed rates, product quality, water usage, and plant availability to meet production targets.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities including shutdowns; manage contractors and coverage planning.
  • Engage with mining, maintenance, and logistics teams, ensuring effective communication and accurate reporting.

About You

You are a skilled and safety-focused Production professional with a passion for team leadership. You bring a practical, hands-on approach and thrive in a collaborative, performance-driven environment.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Demonstrated plant operations experience, including feed management and plant reliability.
  • Relevant trade qualifications (e.g. Electrical, Mechanical Fitting, Plumbing).
  • Solid understanding of plant maintenance - including shutdown planning and HV electrical systems.
  • Proven leadership and team engagement skills.
  • Strong risk assessment and hazard management capabilities.
  • Experience with dozer operations on stockpiles is essential.
