We are seeking a results-driven Production Superintendent to lead and manage daily production operations in our Ready-to-Eat (RTE) meat processing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality production of RTE meat products in full compliance with USDA regulations, food safety protocols, and company standards. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, deep knowledge of meat processing operations, and a proactive approach to team development and continuous improvement.
Supervise and coordinate daily activities of production teams across RTE areas including cooking, slicing, packaging, and sanitation.
Ensure adherence to USDA food safety regulations, HACCP, SSOPs, and company GMP standards.
Drive production efficiency while maintaining product quality, yields, and minimizing waste.
Monitor and manage production schedules, line performance, labor allocation, and material availability.
Work closely with QA, Maintenance, Engineering, and HR to resolve operational issues and meet performance targets.
Foster a culture of safety by enforcing OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
Lead daily pre-shift meetings, communicate goals, and track KPIs such as throughput, downtime, and rework.
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives in processes, labor utilization, and equipment performance.
Train, coach, and evaluate production employees to build strong, motivated teams.
Investigate and report production incidents or deviations, and lead corrective/preventive actions.
High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Meat Science, Industrial Management, or related field preferred.
5+ years of experience in meat or food manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or superintendent role-preferably in an RTE or USDA-regulated facility.
Strong knowledge of RTE processing, HACCP, USDA guidelines, and food safety standards.
Proven leadership ability in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Proficient in using production software and Microsoft Office tools.
