As a Production Scheduler, you will build a finished goods production schedule for the short-term horizon that supports a service level of 98.5% or higher while keeping inventory within company-defined parameters. You will work closely with the procurement team to provide visibility into future production needs, enabling them to bring in materials at the proper time. You will also collaborate with the inventory management and logistics teams to efficiently move materials in and out of the facility.
Schedule production in a make-to-stock and make-to-order environment by comparing current orders and forecasts with available inventory and recommended supply plans, ensuring the schedule is both achievable and efficient for the plant after validating materials with the procurement team.
Use Microsoft Dynamics 365 scheduling functionality to create weekly short-term production plans.
Ensure raw materials, machines, equipment, and labor are available according to the schedule.
Maintain accuracy of incoming orders, transfer orders, inventory records, and open work orders in the system.
Coordinate all aspects of production for finished goods, intermediates, and materials at the facility.
Maintain and update the master distribution schedule, notifying appropriate staff of any changes or delays.
Provide early notice when service level agreements may be affected by material constraints or other internal or external issues.
Coordinate with logistics to ensure inventory is shipped to the main warehouse after passing post-production quality control.
Continuously seek opportunities to improve the scheduling process and drive better outcomes across the business.
