Production manager

Our client is a leading beef processing and manufacturing business, supplying high-quality products to major retailers, foodservice customers, and international markets. With a strong reputation for innovation, consistency, and high standards, they are seeking a hands-on and driven Production Manager to lead operations on site.

The Role:
As Production Manager, you will oversee day-to-day beef manufacturing operations, ensuring that production runs efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. You'll manage teams across the production floor, drive operational performance, and deliver on output, yield, and service targets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, motivate, and develop production teams to deliver against KPIs.
• Manage all aspects of production, from raw material intake through to finished product dispatch.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, food safety, and quality assurance standards.
• Monitor and manage yields, throughput, and waste to maximise efficiency and profitability.
• Work closely with planning, technical, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Deliver continuous improvement projects in line with lean manufacturing principles.
• Manage production reporting, performance metrics, and labour planning.
• Support site leadership in achieving customer, retailer, and audit requirements.

What We're Looking For:

• Proven experience as a Production Manager, Shift Manager, or Operations Manager in meat manufacturing (beef industry experience highly desirable).
• Strong knowledge of production processes, yields, and efficiencies within red meat manufacturing.
• Excellent people management skills with the ability to engage, coach, and motivate large teams.
• Solid understanding of compliance requirements within a food manufacturing environment.
• Strong problem-solving and organisational skills with the ability to thrive under pressure.
• A proactive, results-focused mindset with a drive for continuous improvement.
• Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment with variable demands.
