Wastewater / Leachate Process Engineer

Locations: New Jersey or Midwest (MI / WI)

I'm currently working with a well-established environmental engineering consultancy looking to add a Wastewater / Leachate Process Engineer to their growing team. This role will support projects across the solid waste and environmental sectors, focusing on leachate treatment system design and evaluation.

This is a great opportunity for someone with 5-10 years of experience in wastewater treatment process design who wants to work on technically interesting projects involving high-strength wastewaters and leachate management.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate performance of existing leachate and wastewater treatment systems
• Develop process treatment trains, mass balances, and process flow diagrams
• Interpret wastewater quality and flow data to develop design bases
• Support conceptual and detailed process design
• Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and environmental permit documentation
• Work with multidisciplinary engineering teams on multiple projects

Requirements

• 5-10 years of experience in wastewater or leachate treatment process design
• Civil or Environmental Engineering degree
• PE license (or ability to obtain)
• Experience with biological, physico-chemical, or advanced treatment processes
• Strong understanding of process calculations and treatment system design
• Experience with leachate or high-strength industrial wastewater projects is a strong plus.
