Principal Tailings Engineer EOR / Deputy

We're looking for an accomplished Engineer of Record (EOR) or Experienced Deputy with a passion for technical excellence and a commitment to safe, responsible tailings design. This is a senior technical leadership position with a respected consultancy known for its integrity, quality, and practical, field-focused approach to engineering.

You'll take ownership of key tailings and dam engineering projects throughout Chile and Latin America - guiding multidisciplinary teams, mentoring emerging engineers, and building trusted partnerships with clients who rely on your expertise. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who thrives on solving complex geotechnical and water management challenges.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Leading the design, review, and stewardship of tailings storage facilities from concept to closure.

• Acting as Engineer of Record, ensuring designs meet technical, regulatory, and safety requirements.

• Providing expert oversight of geotechnical analyses, stability assessments, and risk evaluations.

• Building strong client relationships based on transparency, trust, and technical integrity.

• Supporting project teams through mentorship, peer review, and collaboration across regions.

What You Bring:

• 15+ years of experience in tailings and dam engineering.

• Proven track record as Engineer of Record on complex mining projects.

• Advanced knowledge of geotechnical design, seepage, and stability analysis.

• Familiarity with Chilean and international regulations for tailings facilities.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills; bilingual (Spanish/English) .

• A reputation for integrity, technical depth, and sound engineering judgment.
