Plant Manager - North Bay, Ontario

We are working with a leading industrial manufacturing business to recruit an experienced Plant Manager to lead a specialist site operating a hot-dip galvanizing process, delivering critical corrosion protection solutions for a range of industrial applications.

This is a high-impact leadership role, reporting to the Director or Operations, where you will take full ownership of plant performance, driving operational excellence, championing safety, and leading a high-performing team within a complex, high-risk environment.

Responsibilities

• Leading all aspects of plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality, and logistics
• Overseeing the full hot-dip galvanizing process (surface preparation, pickling, fluxing, zinc bath, finishing, and inspection)
• Ensuring coating quality meets required industry and customer standards
• Delivering production targets safely, on time, and within budget
• Driving continuous improvement across processes, efficiency, and output
• Ensuring full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
• Managing budgets, controlling costs, and supporting capital investment planning
• Aligning production with customer demand through close collaboration with internal teams
• Building, coaching, and developing a high-performing leadership team
• Establishing KPIs to improve operational performance and accountability

Essential experience

• Hands-on experience as a Plant or Operations Manager within a hot-dip galvanizing environment
• Strong technical understanding of galvanizing processes, including zinc bath control, chemical treatment, and coating quality
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing teams
• Background in heavy industrial or metal processing operations
• Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives (Lean / Six Sigma)
• Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
