MineTechnical Services Manager - Expat SE Asia

CSG Talent are working closely with a complex, multi-asset mining operation in South East Asia to support their search for a expatriate Mine Technical Services Manager to work residentially in the region and lead their team on site.

This role is combining both open pit and underground mines across the complex. Reporting directly to senior site leadership, you will take full ownership of Mine Technical Services leading a broad, multidisciplinary function spanning mine planning, geology, geotechnical, survey, and technical project delivery. This is an environment with multiple technical and environmental challenges that really can shift very quickly, requiring a leader who can drive performance, adapt rapidly and bring structure to the inherent complexity.

As the Mine Technical Services Manager will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of all technical services across the operation. This includes leading multiple technical teams and superintendents, overseeing mine planning and engineering outputs, managing budgets, improving operational performance, and ensuring alignment with broader production and business objectives. A key part of the role will be driving continuous improvement, strengthening capability across the team, and managing technical risk across both surface and underground operations.

We are looking for a proven technical leader with experience (ideally 15 years plus with 10 in leadership) across both open pit and underground mining environments, ideally with a background in mine engineering or geology. You will have operated at Mine Superintendent or Mine Technical Services Manager level previously on complex mines, with strong exposure to budgeting, contractor management, and cross-functional leadership. Prior expatriate experience is strongly preferred, along with the ability to operate effectively in a culturally diverse, fast-moving environment.
