The Opportunity

We're partnering with an established underground mining operation in Ontario to hire a seasoned Mine Trainer. Reporting to site HSE leadership, you'll design and deliver competency-based training, drive consistent standards across crews, and maintain airtight records and compliance. You'll be the go-to coach for both new hires and experienced operators-lifting capability, safety, and productivity across the board.

Roster & Package

  • Even-time rotation: 14 days on / 14 days off (DIDO or FIFO).

What You'll Do

  • Deliver underground Common Core and specialty module training across all key tasks and equipment.
  • Onboard new employees and run annual refreshers; keep training records complete, accurate, and signed.
  • Coach and guide peer trainers to ensure consistent delivery and alignment with site objectives.
  • Monitor progression against the site's training matrix/Progression Plan; schedule targeted follow-ups.
  • Collaborate with Safety and Operations to standardise procedures and uplift best practice.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement-optimising training methods, content, and cadence.

What You'll Bring

  • Underground Mining Front Line Supervisor Common Core certification (required).
  • "Train the Trainer" certification (required).
  • 10+ years' underground mining experience, incl. 3+ years as a trainer.
  • Proven competency on modern underground equipment (e.g., jumbos, loaders, trucks, charge-up, shotcrete, utility).
  • Comfortable with safety/learning systems
  • Underground Mine Rescue exposure (highly regarded); Working at Heights.
  • Strong knowledge of the Ontario OH&S Act and Mines regulations.
  • Clear communicator, natural influencer, organised and methodical record-keeper.
  • Able to build trust across diverse crews and lift standards through coaching.
