As Mill Superintendent, you oversee daily operations of the flour mill to ensure consistent production, safety, quality, and efficiency. You lead the milling team, making sure schedules are met, equipment is optimized, and product standards are consistently high. Your leadership helps drive performance while supporting a safe, engaged workforce.
Supervise all milling operations, including scheduling, equipment performance, and personnel management.
Ensure production targets for yield, throughput, and quality are met or exceeded.
Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams to keep equipment running at peak efficiency and minimize downtime.
Implement and uphold safety programs, food safety protocols, and regulatory compliance (OSHA, FDA, FSMA, etc.).
Lead and mentor the mill crew-coaching team members, assigning tasks, and conducting performance reviews.
Monitor process control data, adjust operating parameters, and lead troubleshooting efforts as needed.
Drive continuous improvement in mill efficiency, product quality, and operating costs.
Partner with quality, sanitation, and inventory teams to ensure seamless operations from raw grain intake to finished flour shipping.
Prepare reports, track KPIs, and communicate production performance to senior leadership.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment throughout the facility.
A bachelor's degree in Milling Science, Grain Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of progressive experience in a flour milling or grain processing environment.
Solid knowledge of milling equipment, process flow, and quality assurance practices.
Proven leadership ability with strong communication and organizational skills.
Working knowledge of food safety and OSHA regulations.
Ability to lead in a hands-on, fast-paced production environment.
