About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Metallurgist with expertise in mineral processing, pyrometallurgicalpyrometallurgical, or hydrometallurgicalhydrometallurgical plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct and lead metallurgical research programs to improve and innovate processing techniques
  • Oversee sampling programs, analyzeanalyze data, and identify opportunities to enhance plant operations
  • Communicate processes, procedures, conditions, and status to departmental employees and stakeholders
  • Coach and develop entry-level engineers and technical staff in metallurgical research principles
  • Collaborate with vendors, consultants, and educators to test and evaluate new equipment, reagents, and processes
  • Provide technical expertise to departmental and divisional operations
  • Ensure tasks are completed safely and in compliance with EHSEHS policies and best practices

The Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in metallurgy, preferably in metal/non-metal hydro or pyrometallurgy or minerals processing
  • Experience in training and developing technical staff
  • Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgical Engineering or a related field
  • Advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control procedures, and the ability to conduct plant auditing programs

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Regular outdoor work requiring PPEPPE, including respirators, eye protection, hearing protection, and foot protection
  • Occasional work near moving mechanical parts, in confined spaces, and at heights with fall protection
  • Exposure to loud noise and occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds
  • Regular walking, standing, driving, reaching, and occasional stooping, crouching, kneeling, and crawling
