Managing Director - Quarry Operations - Guyana

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and hands-on Managing Director to lead a large-scale quarry operation within a growing and ambitious aggregates business in Guyana. This is a senior leadership role offering the chance to shape strategy, stabilise operations, and drive long-term commercial success in a dynamic environment.

The Managing Director will be responsible for overall operational, financial, and strategic performance. You will lead end-to-end quarry activities including extraction, processing, maintenance, and logistics, ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver strategic and operational plans to drive growth and efficiency.
• Oversee drilling, blasting, extraction, crushing, and distribution operations.
• Optimise plant performance, equipment utilisation, and maintenance systems.
• Monitor and improve key performance indicators including output, uptime, and cost per tonne.
• Lead commercial activities, including customer relationships and contract management.
• Ensure strong financial control, budgeting, and cost management.
• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing management team.
• Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Report performance and progress to senior stakeholders.

Essential Experience:

• Degree in Engineering, Mining, Business, or a related discipline.
• 10-15 years' experience in quarrying, open-pit mining, or heavy industry.
• Proven track record in senior leadership roles with full operational accountability.
• Demonstrated success in improving operational performance and efficiency.
• Strong commercial awareness and financial management capability.
• Experience working in developing or remote environments.
