The Maintenance Engineering Manager provides technical and engineering leadership to ensure all plant facilities and equipment are reliable, safe, and sanitary. This role oversees the Maintenance Department, managing personnel development, productivity, quality, safety, and cost control, while minimizing equipment downtime and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the Maintenance Department to meet goals for cost, productivity, quality, and safety.
Oversee and complete capital projects within budget.
Train and develop maintenance supervisors and hourly staff.
Ensure facility compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards.
Manage wastewater systems and handle certain environmental coordination duties.
Qualifications:
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
Minimum 5 years of experience in food processing, including ammonia refrigeration and wastewater treatment.
Strong mechanical and administrative background; electrical experience preferred.
Skilled in budgeting, cost control, and project management.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficient in computer software (Windows and related programs).
Must pass a criminal background check.
