Our client is a leading meat & poultry manufacturer, supplying high-quality products to major retailers and foodservice customers. With a commitment to excellence, efficiency, and food safety, they are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Manager to join their leadership team and ensure smooth running of all production and site operations.

The Role:
As Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all engineering and maintenance activities across the site. You'll lead a team of engineers, ensure compliance with safety and food standards, and drive improvements in reliability and efficiency of machinery and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and develop the site's engineering and maintenance team.
  • Plan and deliver both reactive and preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure machinery downtime is minimised and production efficiency is maximised.
  • Maintain compliance with health & safety, food safety, and legal standards.
  • Manage engineering budgets, spare parts inventory, and contractor relationships.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives, with a focus on lean manufacturing and reliability.
  • Support site projects including equipment installations, upgrades, and CAPEX investment.
  • Report regularly on KPIs, performance, and compliance.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager, Engineering Manager, or Senior Engineer in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment (meat industry experience highly desirable).
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance within a high-speed production setting.
  • Solid understanding of health & safety and food safety standards in manufacturing.
  • Leadership skills with experience managing and developing engineering teams.
  • Strong problem-solving, planning, and organisational abilities.
  • A results-driven mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Relevant engineering qualifications (HNC/HND, degree, or equivalent).
