We are recruiting on behalf of a renowned, full-service electrical construction contractor for an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to join their collaborative engineering and BIM team in NYC.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in end-to-end project delivery, from coordination and BIM modelling through to on-site execution and project completion.

About the Role

As Lead Engineer, you will be the central technical contact on complex public sector and commercial projects, working closely with field teams, trade coordinators, and project management. This role will see you contribute to every stage of the electrical installation lifecycle, from early planning and drawing review to active construction support and final documentation.

Your work will directly support vital infrastructure projects for agencies such as the DOT, FAA, and Port Authority, making this a career-defining position for an engineer who values quality, legacy, and technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review electrical plans, specs, and MEP documentation to define project scope and coordination needs.

  • Develop 3D BIM models for integration with other trades using Revit MEP, AutoCAD MEP, and Navisworks.

  • Lead trade coordination meetings and drive issue resolution across disciplines.

  • Translate 3D models into detailed 2D shop drawings for submittals and field use.

  • Revise and update shop drawings based on feedback and evolving site conditions.

  • Collaborate directly with site teams to clarify designs and issue updates as needed.

  • Document as-built conditions and contract changes for project records and delivery.

What You Bring

  • Proven experience with Revit MEP, AutoCAD MEP, and Navisworks in a construction environment.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills; a team player with a proactive mindset.

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering is advantageous but not essential.

  • Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or commercial projects is a plus.
