As a Key Account Manager (KAM), you will play a critical role in supporting the launch and adoption of a first-in-class ophthalmic biologic therapy for neurotrophic keratitis, a rare degenerative eye disease. You'll be the primary liaison between the company and key eye care professionals in your territory-developing account strategies, educating clinical staff, and driving access for patients.
Educate and engage cornea specialists, ophthalmologists, optometrists, and support staff.
Drive adoption of the therapy through in-depth clinical knowledge and strategic account management.
Analyze territory dynamics and payer landscapes to support patient access and compliance.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Market Access, Medical Affairs, Patient Services, and Marketing.
Attend key industry and medical conferences representing the company and product.
Implement a data-driven business plan aligned with national and regional goals.
Comply with all industry regulations and company policies.
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or healthcare-related background preferred.
5+ years of successful healthcare sales or account management experience.
3+ years in biotech/specialty pharma sales preferred.
Experience in rare/orphan diseases or ophthalmology strongly desired.
Proven track record of exceeding sales targets.
Must reside in the Saint Louis Territory and be open to frequent travel.
Strong clinical aptitude and communication skills.
Strategic thinker with analytical and organizational strengths.
Self-driven and adaptable with a strong sense of ownership.
Collaborative and team-oriented with a growth mindset.
