My client a pioneering company specializing in next-generation space mobility and satellite servicing is seeking a Senior GNC Engineer to join their growing R&D team in California.

This organization is developing cutting-edge small satellite platforms for missions ranging from orbital logistics to national security operations and in-space servicing.

As a GNC Engineer, you will design, develop, and implement advanced GNC algorithms and systems critical to the success of high-impact space missions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of guidance, navigation, and control algorithms for small satellite missions.

  • Perform mission analysis, trajectory optimization, and orbit determination.

  • Integrate and validate GNC hardware components (e.g., star trackers, sun sensors, GPS receivers).

  • Collaborate across mission design, software, and spacecraft engineering teams to ensure seamless subsystem integration.

  • Conduct modeling, simulation, testing, and verification of GNC systems and flight software.

  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the technical strategy for future satellite missions.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Advanced degree (MS/Ph.D.) in Aerospace Engineering, Control Systems, Orbital Mechanics, or related field (or BS + 5 years' experience).

  • Strong experience developing, testing, and implementing GNC algorithms for spacecraft.

  • Advanced proficiency in C++ and/or Python for algorithm development and simulations.

  • Familiarity with simulation and analysis tools for GNC validation (e.g., MATLAB, custom in-house tools).
