We have an exciting opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer to join an established operator in Ontario. Please be advised we are only accepting applications from candidates with underground mining experience at this time.

About the Role:

As a Geotechnical Engineer, you'll provide critical support to ensure ground stability, maintain operational safety, and optimise mine designs. You'll work closely with technical services and operations teams to manage geotechnical risk across the site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct geotechnical mapping, rock mass classification, and stability analysis.

  • Develop and implement ground control management plans and procedures.

  • Design and monitor ground support systems to ensure mine stability.

  • Perform seismic monitoring and interpret ground movement data.

  • Collaborate with mine planning and operations teams to optimize production.

  • Lead geotechnical risk assessments and incident investigations.

  • Prepare and present geotechnical reports and recommendations to stakeholders.

  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members.

About You:

  • A degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related field.

  • Underground hard rock mining experience is essential

  • Experience with mine software, including Deswik.

  • Strong understanding of ground control techniques and mine safety regulations.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.

  • Effective communication skills to liaise with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

  • A commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Conditions:

This is a residential role with a 5/2; 4/3 schedule.
